How to get rid of Door Chime

Does anyone know how to disable to door chime when your door is open and key is in the ignition? Preferably without cutting any wires!

I've used duct tape over the button, not a permanent solution but worked just fine for me for the times I've needed to silence it

Loosening or removing the bolt attaching the plunger switch on the inside of your door frame should work.

Both those will disable the dome light, any other suggestions?

Probably not without cutting into wires.
You could always do one of the above suggestions and work the dome light manually as you need it.

A fellow I know added a toggle switch to the door panel, so he could shut off the chime, was considering doing that myself. Sure nice to leave the door open and turn up the radio when you are working nearby the truck.

A mechanic friend of mine said to locate the speaker/chime and remove it.
Anyone knows where that is at?

Look at your owners manual. It should have a diagram. The fuse box should to.

I had the dealer turn mine off at my first service.
