Rear Diff fluid

Any recommendations on a rear diff fluid ? Specific brand other than Toyota oem fluid?

Pick your poison of a 75w90 that tickles your fancy. If you have a Sport, make sure you get a limited slip additive.

I think Toyota actually calls for 80w90 but 75 is more common/ better selection at local parts stores, and it’s so damn close that the gears will never know the difference.

Any off the shelf 75W90 stuff. If you can't choose then Mobil 1 works well.

LSD additive needed for some 05 to 08 SR5s and all 05 to 08 Sport models.

Difference is you can buy it on its own to add.

All offroads are open diff until you lock it. If you don't have an 05 to 08 then don't worry about the LSD additive.

You said locker which means offroad. Prerunner just means 2wd on the taller suspension.

Yeah I guess I mean the prerunner with the off-road package, getting confused haha

Toyota charges 60$ for mine. I paid 100$ for a bigger gear since im running 35’s
