Right rear wheel bearing

So I was diagnosed at the dealership with a right rear wheel bearing. 09 Tacoma 4.0 4wd. Now it's to my understanding that the bearing is pressed into the axle. $800 to fix? Or can I find cheaper than the dealership?

Meineke quoted about the same price. I feel like I can do this job myself. Any special press I need or just buy some specialty tools?

You’ll need a press. Make sure not to press in to far. Or pay a shop just to do that part.

If you'v got a 60 ton open mandreled press on a stand , you may get it done if not ,pull the axles break them down (brake assembly) until you have just the axle & hub (welded together) Take it to a machine shop & have them press on new bearing & ABS tone ring /retainers (if you have ABS) I don't know where these prices come from but it doesn't take a grand to,change a bearing...

Keep in mind this is a 2004 Tacoma TRD w E locker & ABS, but yours is probably similiar...
