Slow clutch release when cold

I was curious if anyone else has a problem with a slow clutch release when it is cold outside? The mechanic said that I am releasing my foot too fast and i should let me vehicle come up to temp before driving. Problem is, that when it is single digits, it will never idle up to temp. You have to drive it for 30 minutes.

30 minutes is way too long. It's -1 currently and my truck took less than 10 minutes of idling to reach temp.

In the extreme cold it's usually around 14 to 17 in town. Warmer weather I usually get around 18 to 20 in town.
