TRD Pro Owners: Question About Washing

I just picked up a new Pro and I was wondering if the matte black decal behind the hood scoop gets shiny after going through a car wash? What about when washing by hand? I live in a cold climate and I need to go through automated car washes occasionally to clean off the salt, but I like the look of the matte black decal.

I wash mine by hand and the matte black decal still looks new.
I normally use foamy car wash soap and a big sponge. I have used occasionally when travelling the spray wand at car washes with no problems.
I avoid those automatic washes with the big brushes.

From what I’ve seen it comes down to waxes, I like to use a quick wax occasionally since I can’t get a Good coat on it during the winter. Many waxes do say not to use on matte finishes including decals.
