After a 3" lift on my 1st Gen, I spaced the center bearing down about half an inch to make the driveline geometry more correct. Some that have done this used washers or nuts as spacers on the center bearing mount. Hopefully you are not feeling any axle wrap.

I installed those rims on my 1st Gen, with a similar lift height. I had to use 1" wheel spacers to keep the inside of the tires from occasionally rubbing the top of the steering knuckles. These wheels look pretty good on a 1st Gen.

Check back spacing also. Might need wheel spacers.

Have you checked for axle wrap?
