One thing i did not like about my other tacomas was the ticking from the the high pressure injectors. So far my 21 is quiet but i was wondering if anyone used an injector lubricant or fuel system with lubricant with success to keep injectors quiet.

My 2016 almost sounds like a diesel. Drives me nuts every time I hear it.
Yeah, our water company has a fleet of those v6 3.5 sr 3rd gen tacoma's. I've heard one of them idling. Friggin noisy. Sounded like a rod bearing's going south. So far 12.5k miles on my 2020 sr5 v6. It doesn't make anywhere close to that noise, but you can still hear a lot of stuff going on in that motor you didn't hear in my 3.0 v6 toyota 4wd toyota pickup i had in 93. Even my 4.7 v8 tundra was quiet once it warmed up.

I don't know this for a fact, just hyp from some different oil companies, but some say brand x runs quieter than brand y. I've ran Amsoil and Pennzoil in my 19 3.5 and it's been quiet the whole time. I do use a bottle of Lucas fuel treatment, which is an injector cleaner and upper cylinder lube from time to time, basically whenever I think about it, but nowhere near the every tank full they recommend. It's said that you can here the direct injectors when they go thru their cleaning cycle but I've never heard mine do that either.

Usually every 30k miles i'll pour in a can or two of fuel treatment in my truck like sea foam. I guess it can't hurt as i never had a fuel issue in my last truck for 20 years.

This is the fuel additive. but I've also used the oil stuff as well.
You're right, my bad. Had I clicked the link I would have seen that, I just seen the name and recognized it as an oil additive that someone tried to get me interested in a couple of years ago. Not trying to take anything away from it, if it works for you go for it.
