... needing new front wheel bearings at only 117k on the 2o11

Last wheel bearing I changed was on my 93 toyota 4x4 pickup, and it was a pita. Rotors are nothing, just one step more than changing brake pads. Hey you wanna play, now it's time to pay up. From what I understand these gen2 tacoma wheel bearings aren't too hard to replace like those older taco's. Pick a nice warm day, and have at it. I wouldn't wait much longer. You gotta get your feet wet sooner, or later. Just try not to be like a buddy on mines kid was when having that old gen1 taco that nearly bankrupted him.

You'll never learn anything unless you dive into it, and take your time doing the job. Changing rotors is straight forward unless you run into issues like I did on my 01 tundra where it took me 2 days to finally get those suckers free. They were rusted on the hubs solid. Even a 20 lb sledge hammer was ineffective. Thats one of the pitfalls of owning old vehicles. I can butcher a repair job as good as the next guy when it comes to that crap.
Imo, if you can change those coil over shocks, you should be able to fix a wheel bearing....just hope its not more then that.
Well, at 73 I think I've had enough. It's going to be someone else's job, or a new vehicle from this point on if anything major happens. I think I've earned it.

Guys like you that gotta drive all the time are a perfect candidate for car shield, endurance, or ox.....either that....deep pockets.
