What is your 2020 TRD Pro expectations?

Torque news is as accurate as Jalopnik which are basically automotive tabloids. For 2020, the Pro 4Runner got Carplay compatibility, a new color and push button start. That's all and figure the Tacoma will get minimal updates as well.

OEM running boards on the 2019 Sport? Too High?

Maybe look at something from Westin or swap with someone for the OEM steps.

    HP Gains from upgrades

Average. Intake and exhaust systems aren't all too restrictive now in most vehicles especially non performance vehicles. Forced induction will add the most but the TRD/Magnuson kit is non intercooler. There are some modded kits out there that add one though.

    2016 TRD Offroad Lift

Don't use a spacer lift. They are crap.

    Grinding/buzzing sound

Pushing and holding the VSC button while stopped will disable everything. It still sorta lurks though.

    HP Gains from upgrades

About 7ish from exhaust and intake. The blower is less than 70 horse gain because boost is low due to no intercooler. Probably 40 from the blower.

    Hemmings Daily on Octane

Been saying for years but people think higher grade on an engine tuned for a low grade means more power. If anything a higher grade means less ethanol but some states such as CA have the same ethanol content on all grades.

Any info on 2020 Tacoma Pro

The Tacoma will never have a diesel and the Pro package won't change much. It didn't change much for the Runner.

2012 Tacoma check engine and trac off light

Use a code reader to determine what code set off the CEL. It is normal for the TRAC light to come on with the CEL.

2019 check engine & trac off

The same code for the CPS or just a check engine light in general?

    Long bed tacoma

In your situation, save, save, save. A good lift is expensive. Don't look at Junk Country, Revtek or any other kind of spacer lift. Being a 2008, I'd make damn sure the maintenance is up to date.

3.4l v6 aftermarket coils or oem

    That or Denso will work.

    4.0 exhaust

Swap the muffler for something else. These engines just don't sound all that good though.

    JBL replacement

You're just trying to replace the headunit? Crutchfield carries everything you need. There is a JBL interface you will need if you intend to keep amp that powers all the speakers in the truck. I suggest the iDatalink kit for plug and play install.

2019 check engine & trac off

Trac off will always come on with the CEL. The new engines had CPS issues from the get go.

    2014 Tacoma Prerunner

Add a coilover lift to gain the 6 wanted.

3.4l v6 aftermarket coils or oem

Also OEM Denso plugs. Nothing special needed.
  18. whippersnapper02

3.4l v6 aftermarket coils or oem

More than fine with OEM coils.
  19. whippersnapper02

3.4l v6 aftermarket coils or oem

Yes. Unless you're making a crap ton of power, you don't need aftermarket.

    Muffler Question

Never heard of this before. The 4 bangers do have a "backfire" issue at times but this sounds like an overly rich fuel mixture.
