    Green transportation show

So unless you make EV’s AND ICE (internal combustion engines) you can’t test drive our trucks unless you’re a municipality in Washington.

    Green transportation show

Being part of the commercial truck business I attend all types of shows. Today a big one in Tacoma. Thought this sign in the Rivian booth was interesting.

    the climate crisis...

California Oregon and Washington are doubling down on electric trucks. Pennsylvania is not far behind. With the knowledge that one class 7 or 8 tractor plugged in to recharge will put the same amount of draw on the infrastructure as 10 normal sized homes, imagine 100 plugging in at a major...

    V6-Timing chain or belt?

I wasn’t aware this is a real thing. Still going to have to decline. At 100,000 miles it’s just getting broken and I’m concerned it would be a theft target at that point.

    V6-Timing chain or belt?

I forgot if I asked this already. Do the V sixes have timing belts that require replacement or timing chains or timing gears? I’m getting close to 100,000 miles on mine and I wonder if it’s something I need to be concerned with at this point? 100 years ago I had a Nissan V6 that had a belt and...

    Black paint

I was skeptical if the ceramic coating made sense. After claybaring my 2017, 2 1/2 years ago and then applying the Groits Ceramic coating, the paint is amazing. Still smooth as (use your own analogy), water rolls off, and nothing sticks to it. Truck only has 96k miles on it, but looks great...

Is the 4th Gen Taco a hit or a miss?

Difference between an AMT and an automatic. Automatic has a lock up torque converter. AMT utilizes a clutch and if you look inside, it’s a manual.

Engine, transmission, some settings. Saves the owner or operator from sitting around a dealership waiting to get in the shop.

Is the 4th Gen Taco a hit or a miss?

We’re running Automated Manuals. They have clutches and transmission modules and are programmed for economy. No clutch pedal. Push a buttons or twist a switch, truck does the rest. They’re programed to run between 62-68 mph and get 7-7.5 mpg. Empty or dead heading about 10+. 20 years ago...

Is the 4th Gen Taco a hit or a miss?

The reason diesels seem better suited for turbos is because they are built stronger in the first place. Diesels are compression fired, no spark plugs. They run much higher compression ratios, consequently blocks, cranks etc must be capable. Then add the turbo. For many years diesel trucks...
