    Pedal Commander

I'm not saying there is anything wrong. In fact I've run diagnostics and everything is good. I just don't like the way the pedal feels. I drove the truck today quite a bit and can feel a significant difference.

    Pedal Commander

My truck h as a definite flat spot right at the begining of pedal movement. The lag is much more noticable than and carbuerated vehicle I've driven (except the Fiat I had in Europe, total dog).

    Pedal Commander

I've driven mostly carburated vehicles all my life. The lag in the first bit of throttle application is annoying. On the other hand if you push harder sometimes it downshifts when not needed. This will let me tune the throttle to something I like better.

    Pedal Commander

I looked into both tunes and pedeal commander. Depending on your state a tune will not pass smog. Unless you have a tuner that will reflash back to factory for testing then flash it again for free it could either not pass smog or get exensive. I decided for Pedal commander. Installation was...

    Full send Saturday!!

Sometimes chains can help. But Toyota in their wisdom does not recommend chains for the front, at least on my 2020.

Depending on the type of mud, it can completely coat the tire until it's no more than a slick covered with clay type mud. Then you can spin those tires until the cows come home. While not as handy as a true winch, they do work. We used to make our own. We'd take an adapter for converting...

    Full send Saturday!!

Here's a hint. When you even think you are stuck "STOP". Get out and look all around the vehicle then figure out the best way to get out. Most folks just try to keep going and end up stucker (is that a word?).

Yep, when they are down to the frame, it's drag them out (risking damage to all sorts of stuff) or lift them out. Or if it was a tow truck likely a combination of both. I always try to lift in sand and mud before I drag. If you can get it back on top half the battle is won.

A litle thing called physics requires that fluids move from an area of higher pressure to one of lower pressure. So the inlet has to be higher than the outlet. How much depends on what the pressure loss across the radiator is. Anyway, that's what I learned about hydraulics in the four years...

    Tools...

Fifty odd years ago a young recently discharged fellow found work in a radiator shop. One of the first things he learned was that spring clamps are always replaced with good clamps. Spring clamps are used because they are cheap, and the manufacturer is not the guy who will be replacing them...

Or like me, he just loves tools and gadgets in general. But, it is nice when you need a left handed hammer you can reach up on the board and grab one.

    Tacoma vs jeep

The soul of a Jeep not driven off road withers. Much like a firearm not shot.

    Tacoma vs jeep

Did that poor Jeep ever see anything but a mall parking lot? Or are those photos as new?

    Tacoma vs jeep

Based on what I see on the streets here, it'g got a fighting chance. Broader appeal. Guys like them, chicks like them, and mom's think of them as a better minivan/mini suv.

    Tacoma vs jeep

Yea, "Willy's" did make the Overland. But the "Jeep" Commando was more a shot across the bow of the stationwagon. The two CJ versions were the CJ-6 a stretched CJ-5 and the CJ-8 a stretched version of the CJ-7. The CJ-6 came out during a period when Jeeps weren't all that popular. While the...

    Tacoma vs jeep

Ducks on Jeeps started as a chick thing. Then a bunch of younger jeeping males fell into line. Sadly, old jeepers like myself mourn the day when the CJ was replaced by the YJ and all of the succeeding wannabe Jeeps. Since all of th kids seem to think it's important to post when they bought a...

Automatic trans radiator to power steering

Pump puts out high pressure, then thru the rack and returns at a lower pressure. To flow through a cooler you still need a higher inlet than outlet pressure. So, if you tap off of the high pressure side you'll see full pump presure at the inlet of the cooler. and depending on the pressure...

Automatic trans radiator to power steering

Sitting here checking replies, I had a thought. What is the operating pressure of power steering as opposed to that of a transmission. It would really suck to find out that the internal cooler wasn't up the the pressure. Or as a cheerleader says in one of my favorite movies "I'm not cleaning...

Automatic trans radiator to power steering

Before you do anything, get you power steering pump as hot as you can and then check the temperature with a temperature sensor. At the same time check the temperature of the side of the radiator you intend to circulate back to the PS system. Compare temps. But I'm thinking in all but the most...
