Things I DON’T like about my Tacoma

Order up the switch assembly from one of those other levels, pop it in, and Bob's your aunte. The 'auto' feature of the window is handled in the physical switch assembly.

Things I DON’T like about my Tacoma

Interesting. I've got a TRD Off-Road as well, but mine is a manual, so maybe that's why it doesn't have it? (although it's not an excuse in my book. My other car is also a manual and has all that (minus remote start obviously)).

Which trim level do you have? By keyless remote entry I mean, have a little button on the handle such that I don't have to take the key out of my pocket. This would also include keyless start, something I didnt believe any trim level of the Taco had?

Gonna bitch about this again, but auto headlights, and RFID key entry/remote start would be a fairly 2018 thing to have.

Left My Taco in Santa Fe

It's not repairable? Unless the frame is jacked up, it looks like mostly body damage and some suspension items? I drove a Colorado, a Frontier, and a Taco before settling on a 2018 OR Taco Manual. The Chevy was honestly more comfortable, and better equipped. But, it's more expensive...

Recommendations for a sort of kayak/canoe rack thing?

Is it easy enough to access the bed with the rack installed? Or is it on a sort of quick disconnect setup?

Recommendations for a sort of kayak/canoe rack thing?

All my camping gear will fit in the bed, mostly below the rail of the bed. I won't pitch the tent in the truck bed lol, I'm taller than my truck bed is long... So as long as the rack/kayaks don't protrude down into the bed, it should be fine.

Recommendations for a sort of kayak/canoe rack thing?

I've decided that having a couple kayaks or a canoe would be fun when camping. Anyone here have experience with any sort of mounting rack for their taco? I don't have a shell on the bed, nor do I want one. Ideally, all the camping gear + tent will be in the bed, with a rack of some sort to...

    Taco Talk

Well, given this entire forum is the 'Taco Forum', I reckon there is only one kind of taco around these parts.

I feel like we've got a missed opportunity here. Had a random thought that this general discussion forum should be called Taco Talk no?

Traded in my 2013 dclb limited for a 2018 dcsb limited

Plus the auto transmission in the Taco seems to be a bit meh for the first 20-30k miles from what I've read here.

Traded in my 2013 dclb limited for a 2018 dcsb limited

Can only get a manual with the short bed, so, short bed it is. Something about having to row your own gears is satisfying.

    Paint/Clear Coat Blemishes? 2018 OR

How much heat and time did it take for say, one spot?

    Paint/Clear Coat Blemishes? 2018 OR

I would find a small area and test it myself before letting them paint it. Seems like a ton of hassle for a potentially easily resolved issue. Can probably even use a hair dryer on a small area and see if it improves. Can't imagine it takes a ton of heat. I didn't even have an appointment with...

    Pre-collision

Interesting. So there must be a delay in the time braking starts from when the alarm went off. Mine has gone off a couple times, but it never auto-braked on me. Maybe that delay is what determines a real 'threat' from a glitch? It assumes that if it's a legit car stopping in front of you, the...

    Pre-collision

If it were an auto-braking system, sure. But the system in the Tacoma is passive. Only displays a warning to brake. (at least, the few times mine went off, that's all it did. Interestingly though, the system in my other car, which is also only passive, does seem to 'prime' the ABS system when...

    Pre-collision

Nature of the beast with these systems. Hasn't happened in my Tacoma yet, but in my second car, if I catch a shadow just right or a leaf blowing around just right, it'll set the system off
