    Nascar

I used to really like watching NASCAR however over the years with all the changes and this new car they have this year my interest is getting less and less. My favorite now is the winged sprints in WORLD OF OUTLAWS

What oil are all of ya using?

Normal would be a DD, back and forth to work, generally the normal day to day stuff, probably 10k to 12k a year. Abnormal would be tracking, off roading, long distances, high mileage per year. Several years ago now but I was driving 50k a year for 6 years, now I consider that abnormal.

What oil are all of ya using?

This is just my opinion but the base, whether is hydro cracked or grade 4 or 5, will withstand 99.9% of what a normal driver will put it thru. The big difference is the additive package.

Anyone else from the other place ?

When I first got my taco in 19 I was over there for just a bit, figured out real quick it wasn't for me. A lot more friendly, open minded people here.

What oil are all of ya using?

The age old argument, what's a synthetic and what's not. If you're using a 0wt oil you're using at least a synthetic blend, but that's saying of you can find it. Most of the mame brands have went full synthetic now which basically means they are using hydro cracked grade 3, petroleum, as their...

What oil are all of ya using?

I'm not a mechanical engineer nor claim to be the brightest crayon in the box, however I've done a lot of reading on this subject. According to what I've read over the years the manufacturers have tightened tolerances and changed alot of things to make the ICE engine more efficient. Some of it...

    Question about AC system

+1 on checking the cabin air filter, I just replaced mine today, should have done it 6 months ago, just being lazy. I usually change mine every year, so this one was 1 1/2 year old and man was it dirty. Other than that go to garage that can do a/c service. For the most part I think you're just...

    Catalytic converter problem

I haven't been in commmiefornia for 50 years but from what I understand they do a sniff test as part of their smog check. As well as being real a holes about aftermarket parts. I'd check on what it is exactly that you need to pass the smog check, you might be regulated to factory OEM catts.

    Won't start, with weird circumstance

Just a shot in the dark here, really tuff to tell without seeing it. I just looked at a positive battery cable for you're taco, the one I looked at has a second wire in the terminal lug. If yours is like that and you had the amount of corrosion that you stated it might still have internal...

    Won't start, with weird circumstance

Yeah, I was gonna say check the ground to engine and from body to frame. Don't just check that bolts are tight, clean connection and retighten.

    Won't start, with weird circumstance

I've also heard that black coffee works really good at cleaning corroded terminals.

    Won't start, with weird circumstance

Did you actually clean battery terminal and cable connectors with wire brush, get them good and clean when you reinstalled battery? What kind of battery tester did they use? The battery may show 12/13 volts but have dead cells and have no cranking power. If it is the coke that is truly doing the...

    Catalytic shield?

My grand father told me years ago that locks only keep honest people honest, if a thief really wants something he will find a way to steal it.

    brake drum gasket?

Probably the Japanese way of saying snow belt/ rust belt.

    brake drum gasket?

I'm thinking that "gasket" is not used for any kind of sealing, it's to keep the drum from rusting to the axle shaft. JMO, very well could be wrong.

    Truck turning off

If you replace the camshaft or crankshaft position sensor I'd use OEM only. Toyota's have a tendency to be really picky about their sensors. Aftermarket may work for awhile but in the long run you're better off with OEM.

    Transfer Case oil change

Last I looked amsoil didn't have a recommended oil for the t case. Whatever you use I'd pay close attention that it meets the spec of OEM.

'21 Tacoma 2nd oil change questions

I don't know but did the V8 tundra have any kind of direct injection. One of the issues with direct injection is fuel dilution in the oil. The Tacoma has a combo of port and direct injection so really don't know how that affects the oil in our v6's.

    Catalytic shield?

Since you put that name up there I went and googled it. Crutchfield has some that will beep ay anyone getting within 1 foot of vehicle and go full out should vehicle actually be entered. That was just a quick glance so I'm sure there's more available.

    Catalytic shield?

Do they still make those alarms, I think they were called passive alarms? Anyways when someone would get too close to you're vehicle they would go off, never have to touch vehicle, just be too close.
