Just saw this on the news. A rear suspension component can corrode and fail, causing it to either sever a brake line or puncture the gas tank. Here's a link... RECALL

The chambers that are inside the flowmaster muffler are arranged in such a way that can restrict the flow of exhaust. Same thing can happen with similar designs. Magnaflows and Borlas use a fiberglass packing like a glasspack I do believe, so they have a better flow.

Yeah...wont get any better unless you lighten the foot. Not really sure why you need to be pushing 100 mph, but that's none of my business. You say you work in construction, do you haul any equipment on a day to day basis?

I hear you're a lead foot...that might contribute to your low mpgs.

2011 dbl cab 4x4 4.0 averaging about 20 mpg in the spring and summer. It drops about 2 mpg in the winter.

You can keep your foot on the brake and the gas while cruising...keep those RPMs high.

Are you thinking of Flowmaster Hushpower mufflers? Those are designed like a glasspack I do believe, so that would be similar to a thrush or a cherry bomb.

The muffler doesn't make the sound...it "muffles" the sound. The smaller the muffler, the louder your exhaust will be. The flowmaster 10 series is the smallest you can go.

Just leave it be. You will never get the sound YOU'RE looking for with this truck...I think we've been over this before in another thread. You don't like the flowmaster?
