So I saw on another thread somebody replaced the stock JBL sub with a Kicker CompRT 43CWRT81 and had “mirror vibrating bass” they were impressed by. They used the stock amp and wires. Well, I installed it hoping for the best and it’s exactly the same or maybe worse than it was. Just a warning...

Yup...they still work, just a little slower to warm up.

I’ve got some that I’ll sell for cheap to get out of my garage. They bolt up easy with 6 bolts per side into preexisting holes.

I got leather...they look the same as his and haven’t needed any adjusting yet.

May need to clean the MAF sensor. I also starting using premium and saw better results with less lagging of the engine. No major performance increase or anything, just better/smoother running. I get 19 mpg average on mine but I’m not too hard on it either.

I just put mine in 2 weeks ago and am very happy with them. You’ll love it. Wife says they looks completely stock.

Looking to upgrade my audio. Needing to know if all the speakers including the sub are 2 ohms. Also, is the sub a dual voice coil or single? Separately, has anybody replaced their JBL speakers with regular 4 ohm components? What was the result?

Thought I would add a fun fact... filled up twice with 93 octane and now it seems to drive much better. I know 87 is recommended but 93 seems to run a lot smoother.

I agree. Especially considering how everybody raves over Toyota quality. So far my best truck has been my Ram and that’s who everybody hates on the most! If my gf didn’t wreck it I’d still be a happy camper with that truck!

Unless you’re being harder than usual on your truck, I would just follow the owners manual. Even then, I think they have a column for hard driving or something similar.

Anybody else have hesitation like the engine is misfiring but only while cruising with low RPMs? Once I downshift and get higher RPMs it goes away. I only have 22k on it and it’s a 2017. Thanks!

Thanks guys. I thought I read somewhere that the sport’s springs were different and that’s probably my biggest problem with the ride while also being the reason I like the handling as well. Hope I’m not wasting money on the 5100s but I guess all I can do is try and see. I’ll have to report back...

I have a 2017 TRD SPORT 4x4. I read that changing the rear shocks would help the ride quality, which it did, slightly. I used Bilstein 4600s. No plan to lift. Not completely happy, I’m going to change the front next, and naturally thinking of 5100s. The question is shocks only vs coil...
