    Ball Mounts

Yeah, getting crooked necks and zombie mentalities. Believe me, I know why Zombie movies and TV serials are so popular these days. Most people recognize what's wrong with their fellow human beings. They want. They Want. They Want. They see each other as mindless walking dead who are only...

What have you done to your Tacoma today?

Not sure what year your Taco is, but I know from look'n that I don't really like that lid opening up sideways. Mine, in a 2017, opens from the front and is hinged in back. It's better, I think, 'cause whatever knucklehead I have as a passenger can get into it without making a clusterf*** out...

How in the god awful hell do you even use that claw? And where'd you get those birds from? The only thing I worry about these step thingies is whether some dumb kid will see them as a way to hitch a ride.

What have you done to your Tacoma today?

It's not so much about what I did today, but what I've done since I purchased my 2017 TRD OR back in October. There're a few things I've done and have plans for some more. Some are trivial. The first thing I did was buy a tonneau cover. This is the BackFlip M4. About the same time, I...

    Ball Mounts

Given your posts above, I went ahead and bought in on this. It did cost me more than $20 altogether and did get it via Walmart's hosted vendors. As you can see from the photo, like you, I got the locking pin security hitch as well. Here's a pic through the Reverse camera display for...

How were you able to buy a Tacoma

I'm retired. I walked into the Toyota dealership and at first talked to some rummy rookie sales person who walked me through mud on the lot on a sunny day and wouldn't listen to a damn thing I had to say. I persisted to ask to talk to somebody else and eventually that paid off and the fleet...

    What is Toyota thinking?

I've been lurking on this thread to see where it's going and whether all understand the AI shift mode involved. Or even any of the Toyota shift modes ... I don't think the Adaptive Learning takes that long in all cases. From what I've researched, AI mode can be switched off for one thing...

Lift kits? No, they don't do lift kits, but they will send out Tacos and Tundras for customers to a local off road shop that warrants their work. The dealer in this case confirms that a lift kit will void the warranty.

    Finding Good OffRoad Trails

Ooo-rah! Keep looking and you will be rewarded ... Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area? Gotta get a closer look at this ... Whoa! Spaghetti roads! Let's look at the satellite view ... State? What have I found here? http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1179 This...

    New to off-roading

Howdy. I've been digging for local off roading spots and my research turned up this for us California residents .... http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/ If it isn't there, it's something else, like BLM or private.

    Merry Christmas taco lovers.

No sooner do I get the big idea to ask lady Taco drivers to chime in here, than voila! Good to see that truck'n in Tacos is inclusive. But then I knew that. Happy Holidays!

    ToyotaCare

Shortly after I bought my 2017 TRD Offroad in October, I saw this Toyota commercial on TV offering new Toyota Truck buyers 2 years of free maintenance. I thought "Oh ****, I just missed it." And then I started receiving mail from Toyota describing the 2 year free maintenance as part of...

    Finding Good OffRoad Trails

Sometimes the investigation can be disappointing. Here's some further info on the above satellite maps. Yep, it's a county park with hiking trails for pedestrians and bicycles. Other data indicates that mountain biking is on the activities listing. Sometimes you get disappointed.

    Finding Good OffRoad Trails

Here's an example of using Google Maps in Satellite Mode to look for off road trails in my back yard. So, this starts the process, but zooming in clarifies things ... There's one problem left to solve. How can one determine access rights to these trails? Zooming in further might show...

    What is Toyota thinking?

I think this little gem of a theory has to do with the establishment of a natural resonance within the engine based upon characteristic usage during the first couple thousand miles. It will just seem to drive better after establishing this resonance at the speeds/rpms that were frequently hit...
