I did the EGR delete on my intake... more low end, but no difference top end

a k&n intake is crap... its hot air, so less horsepower. get a cold air intake like AFE, or TRD for real gains... I run the TRD with an EGR delete.... some minor gains.... faster than stock (ive raced a stock Tacoma), but its not mind blowing....I also have more than just the intake... you need...

get a brush guard.... its cheaper thaan a bumper, and itll take out tiny pines and shrubs.....or shopping carts at low speed

you could also buy the mounts for a second gen on that brand bull bar...if you can find them.
