To be honest as long as I had a taco which is a v6, I'm happy. I don't really look at our trucks for speed.

Just curious what gen Tacoma's do you guys prefer? Which one do you think is better and has overall more value? Me personally I'm 2nd gens all the way, but I've never drove a 3rd gen.

Check the transmission fluid and rear diff. I've heard those are the only problems being caused so far.

I wouldnt trust a dealer if he said "it's just surface rust". My advice look for another Tacoma elsewhere.

Or another way to be successful is to join the military and serve till you get retirement. I'm not sure how many years it is for retirement, isn't it 15-20 years of service?
