I put a Rockford 12" shallow mount behind the passenger back seat and mounted the amp behind the driver rear seat right in the back.

I put O.M.E Leveling kit on the front. The kit was $100. Then the alignment.

I think there is a TSB on that noise. Pointing to the pinion bearing. I has the same problem and the dealer ended up replacing my rear end.

P.B. BLASTER! That nut should spin freely on the metal portion of the pressure hose, at both ends.

I would the suggest a leveling kit instead of a full lift. Aggressive all terrains, not mud tires. I run a 265 / 70 / 17 LT Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's. They seem to work quite well. I'm in the same boat you are as far as on/off road. Just some thoughts....
