    2nd gen frame rot

Wow that was quick. I wonder if it had to do with your good friends mother being the service coordinator. LOL. I got my 06 inspected and they told me they had ordered the parts but they have no idea when they can replace it. It's already been 4 months since my inspection.

Gooey Residue of CRC Treatment: '09 Taco

I think the outer layer will crisp up a bit. They put some of this on my truck back in the spring. I don't get the rust prevention treatment though. I get a new frame. Only a 2 year wait. LOL

    Power steering problems.

I just took some penetrating lubricant and soaked it. I used SeaFoam Deep Creep. You can crawl under the driver side wheel well and spray it from there. The U Joint is not protected by a boot so it is exposed to the elements.

    Power steering problems.

I would check the U joint on your steering column first. My 06 was corroded pretty good making it tough to turn the wheel. It would turn smooth, then go stiff and back to smooth and then stiff again as I spun the wheel. Not sure if you're having the same issue, but just thought I'd mention it.

    Ac trouble

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Was it difficult to replace the wiring harness? How much did it cost to purchase and where did you buy it from?

    Frame Replacement (Recall)

Got my truck back from the Dealership. They said there is some perforation, so they took pictures and sent it off to Toyota Canada. Guess I'll have to wait and see what's next!

    Ac trouble

I have the same problem. It is not the actual resistor itself but the wiring connection. If the connection is bad enough you will see burnt discoloration on the wires/resistor. If I have a passenger I just get them to kick their foot under the glove box and that usually makes the connection good...

You sure it wasn't the Maple Leaf? LOL

    Frame Replacement (Recall)

05-10 is the recall. It's still in the legal process so not technically a recall yet. The dealership made sure I was aware of this. LOL. Anyways I'm going for my inspection on the 31st.

    Frame Replacement (Recall)

I get to take my truck to the dealership for inspection and may get my frame replaced completely for free. There are some holes on the gussets that the body sits on. And the frame seems to be fairly rusted. Do you think they will replace my frame? Has anyone had there frame replaced because of this?

    Defroster blowing when AC on

If I understand you correctly, your vent is blowing on the windshield when you don't have it on that setting?

    Jerking While Stopped and Stopping

Must have just been axel wrap. It only did it that day a few times. Haven't had it since.

    Jerking While Stopped and Stopping

Hey Guys, yesterday my truck did something a bit weird and I am wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing. It's an 06 4WD TRD SR5 When coming to a stop or while stopped, my truck jerks forward hard enough to the point where it made me feel as if the person behind bumped me. It seems to...

    Aisin fluid change

No, there was no way to get a wrench on it. The transmission housing was in the way. Need the clearance between the rachet and the socket.

    Aisin fluid change

I recently did my 06 4WD and it was a bitch to get the refill plug off. Not a lot of room to get to it and the bolt head is only 5mm deep, so had to grind the chamfer of my 24mm socket. Still worth saving the $140 thought lol.

    Ride from hell

Of course you lost on a trade in, you traded it in haha. Your impatience cost you the profit the dealership going to make by reselling it. Should have sold it privately. I don't know what you were hauling in the first place but sounds like you need a Tundra...

    Ride from hell

Sounds like you should have got a 2nd gen. I think the down sized engine with up sized transmission is due to the demand for fuel efficiency. After all it is a compact truck. If you need a truck for work, a V6 isn't the engine you want. I have not drove a 3rd gen, so I can't say for sure, but...
