    So is the ford maverick. I ran into an owner here that came from a gen3 tacoma, claiming it was the tacoma from hell, and would never go beck to a toyota again.

    Toyota tech friend of mine recommends all new o2 sensors every 100k if your one of those mpg freaks that likes clean air. As far as transmissions being rebuilt....as long as they used the same gear ratios, fuel economy should be the same. Doesn't take much intelligence to rebuild a manual stock...

    Seems these shields are only good for collecting mud, and other debris getting stuck in them. I don't have a separate transmission/transfer case shield on my gen3, just the engine splash shield I hose off every time when doing an oil change. If I didn't cosmoline it real good, it'd be all rusty...

    Why stop there, just get a fresh new complete engine, emission, and fuel system. You already replaced just about all the other components in that truck. I've come to the conclusion many of these gen1 owners are strange birds that lack critical thinking, or maybe just too young to know any...

    Whats the purpose of 2 shields? All toyota 4wd trucks I've owned since 1978 never had more than one, excluding the fuel tank.

    I get around 330-340 miles to an average 15 gallon fillup with my 3rd gen depending if winter, or summer driving a a combination of some city, and mostly secondary highway roads while keeping speeds under 60 mph, except when on the interstate where it can get pretty crazy. I never ran my fuel...
