Nope. Truck comes by a local shop. They let me know when it will be here. Advantage of having long term relationships with folks.

Garage that knows 98 SR5 very WELL?

Please not their sign said "techs". In other words mere parts changers that unless provided with an error code have no idea on how to trouble shoot.

    E.D.T.... every darned time

Having been rear ended by a girl who thought her phone was more important than driving, I wish they would send them to jail for a couple of years and never give them a nother license. Like DUI, no excuse for it.

Brake Diving, Weight Distribution, Tire Wear

Nose dive is the bumper. Uneven tire wear is either damage/wear to front end suspension components, tire balance or something as simple as air pressure. Of course it could be no one ever rotated the tires. Have a good shop examine the front end for damage/wear and road balance the tires. Of...

Losing traction while braking after new tires

Most likely air pressure. Shops tend to inflate to near max instead of looking at the info the manufacturer publishes about pressure versus weight. And as mentioned new tires are generally smoother than slightly worn ones and don't have as good traction. By the way, ever notice that when...

2011 Tacoma 4 speed Auto Transmission shudders when changing gears

Yep, dow a fluid change first. Some, I don't know about Toyotas, have a plug, some don't so you drain by loosening the pan. Regardless get a large catch pan. Many plugs are magnetic so check and see if there are any bits of metal, no mater how small, stuck to the plug. No plug it usually...

    the climate crisis...

If it's been hot and they've been sitting they usuall stick to the glass. Turn them on and their toast. Try gently lifting them everytime you fill the tank. There are also some products that are supposed to prevent sticking and tearing, neve tried them.

Custom Tacoma front grill with lights.

Joel, it would have been fun to find out who was faster. I used to run at Brotherhood on Terminal Island in L.A. Where did you run? I mentioned in another thread about the shops I have dealt with over the years. One of them was basically a speed shop. The brother of the fellow who took it...

Custom Tacoma front grill with lights.

Being one of those kids, well in my 20's so that counts I guess, I had a Nova banner on my '68 Nova. You might laugh, but I would probably have taken you from the get go in the 1/4.

    E.D.T.... every darned time

I must live right. I do most of my work myself. But over the years I have had to use shops. The first was a fellow who went to school with my mam and dad. When he retired his son in law. When an injury took him out I moved to the younger brother of a high school friend who had taken his...

    Wheel offset.

You put a 6" lift on it. You have changed the aerodynamics and harmonics. If you still have the factory air dam on it first make sure it is tightly attached. If not tighten it. If it is properly attached try removing it. If that doensn't resolve the issue, reinstall and start checking inner...

What's your favorite national park to visit?

Another of my favorites is Joshua Tree. It was better when it was just a national monument. It didn't get as much attention. But I guess all of the parks are swamped these days. Thank heaven for unimproved BLM land. Most "campers" (read folks that drag their entire homes along on wheels)...

What's your favorite national park to visit?

I have to agree that a train is better than driving. Trains seem to go through country that makes highway scenery pale. Now have that train pulled by a steam locomotive and the trip just seem magical. Then again, I'm a train nut so there's that to consider. Being an old steam engineer I have...

What's your favorite national park to visit?

Yellowstone, in winter. Far fewer people and a completely different experience. If you go be prepared for winter. I saw folks who didn't even have any sort of jackets.

You're better off buying only impact rated sockets. Cost a bit more, but last much longer. Except the 10mm. They still seem to go to 10mm land, wherever that is.

No offense, but I wonder if the "new" person works for one of those outfits that gets you to the top of the list for a price.
