    Hood alignment question

I just spent more time lining this up, painstakingly raising this side, lowering this side, got it about as close as it's going to get just like that Tonneau cover, took it for a ride, heard no noises so that's it, close enough. I was squatting down and eyeballing it where the hood meets the...

    Hood alignment question

Had the truck waxed about 10 days ago, looks great, but after it was in there I noticed somewhat of a "donk" clunking noise intermittenly while driving slowly, it seemed to be coming from the hood area. If I bounced up and down on the driver's side running board it would make this noise to the...

When putting a soft Tonneau cover back on is this okay and normal?

Yes I do that, thanks. And I saw a soft cover on one today in a parking lot and it was a LOT more off line than mine is so I don't feel so bad lol!

When putting a soft Tonneau cover back on is this okay and normal?

Thank you. Like I said I wish I had looked at things before I took the cover off but for some reason I didn't!

When putting a soft Tonneau cover back on is this okay and normal?

I so wish that before I took this cover off and put it back on that I would've looked at it, how it was aligned, and checked for leaks when it rained etc. but I didn't, I didn't think that I would ever take it off but I did. I just ran it through a touchless car wash, pretty high powered rinse...

When putting a soft Tonneau cover back on is this okay and normal?

And if I thought there would've been so much hassle with this I would've looked at how it was lined up from the factory before I took it off but I didn't think to do that, I didn't see any reason to!

When putting a soft Tonneau cover back on is this okay and normal?

I was out there playing around one more time with it, trying to see if I could even out the back part of it by the gate and I could get it pretty close to each other, but then the front left side by the cab isn't butted up against the cab. I even measured the distance that the brackets were...

When putting a soft Tonneau cover back on is this okay and normal?

I talked to the guys at Toyota today, the best they could do was have someone look at it who is "familiar" with these covers, he listened to what I said, looked at it and said "you did it correctly, the beds on these trucks are pretty much perfectly square but the covers probably are not", and...

When putting a soft Tonneau cover back on is this okay and normal?

About a foot behind the front of the bed on both sides there is a mounting bracket in the side track that is horizontal and these are where the bolt goes through them. The bolts are in a track on the cover and can be moved side to side as far as you want, that is why there is "play" in there, I...

When putting a soft Tonneau cover back on is this okay and normal?

I looked online and used that model number and the videos I see make me believe that it is made by "Rough Country", but none of the videos that I see them installing them are the bolt setups the same as this one, and none of them have those wire clips to be put on. But the material looks the...

When putting a soft Tonneau cover back on is this okay and normal?

I played around with this again today, the manual that came with it just says "Toyota Tonneau cover" and at the bottom of the page it says 3100200-30 and under that says "part number". It just says to put it back on and tighten the bolts and attach those two wire "clips". It has no name on the...

When putting a soft Tonneau cover back on is this okay and normal?

I'll look at the manual again tomorrow to see if it says a brand name. It's a soft cover that you can fold over twice when it stays on the truck. There also are two metal wires, one on each side, that you clip onto a bolt coming out of the side of the bed to help keep it in place. I'm assuming...

When putting a soft Tonneau cover back on is this okay and normal?

It came with the truck from the factory. There is a bolt on the driver side and one on the passenger side that fit into a metal piece with a hole in it attached to the side of the bed. The bolts aren't rigid, they can be slid back and forth in the track they are in so there is some play in it.

When putting a soft Tonneau cover back on is this okay and normal?

My '22 came with a soft foldable Tonneau cover and it wasn't until today that I decided to take it off to see how I liked it without it, turns out I like it a lot and will keep it off when hauling firewood rounds so it isn't in the way when folded down. When I went to put it back on, I thought...

Put about an extra 1/3 gallon fuel in, did this harm anything?

Yes good advice. I know that time the fuel was getting low and I had a lot of money of gas at the station and figured if I could put the 20 gallons maximum in I would do it, but like this episode above it was just that one time and will stay just that one time. I also talked to my mechanic who...

Put about an extra 1/3 gallon fuel in, did this harm anything?

Thank you. I just talked to the dealer and they said if there was an issue it most likely would've showed up right away, the check engine light would be on, it would be idling roughly, etc and since I drove it over 20 miles since then with no issues it should be fine. I also know that when it...

Put about an extra 1/3 gallon fuel in, did this harm anything?

The other day I paid $30 cash to fuel up my '22 Tacoma, and I always make sure to stop fueling when the pump clicks, but this time it clicked at $28.99, so I pulled the nozzle out and put the extra $1.01 in which amounted to about 1/3 gallon, don't know why, late Friday, tired, long ass week, I...

New Tacoma owner after 35 years with Ford Bronco

Well I think I got it to the point where there is still some protectant on there but not enough to drip in the rain, so that is much better. What is the comsistency of the products you mentioned, are they liquid or a little more thick?
