Typically, a simple swap to LED bulbs does not work very well.
The assembly needs to be changed. The reflector is shaped differently to match the focal length to the LED bulb.
A simple swap will appear to be a better solution. Although, the light will be unfocused leading to poor illumination of the road. This will be noticed by on-coming drivers flashing their high beams.
