Aftermarket hitch

Is it ok to get a aftermarket tow hitch for my 2018 Tacoma it didn't come with the tow package an I'm thinking about getting a aftermarket one.

Yes but the OEM comes with a tranny cooler I’d look into that if you’re going to be towing much with it.

I called Toyota a they told me they haven't released the hitch. An another one told me that they can't put the hitch on if it didn't come with the tow package. Only thing I will be towing is a riding lawnmower

Go to U-Haul and have them install one, or buy what you want and install it yourself. If it’s less than 3000 lbs and you’re not blasting up 15%^ grades you’ll be fine.

I want to clarify about the OEM. I wasn’t saying you should get the OEM installed. I was simply trying to let you know that a transmission cooler comes OEM and would be suggested if you where going to be towing much with it. They make aftermarket tranny coolers. I was just saying I’d look into them. Not actually from Toyota.

Ok I sure will look into it. Alot of people been telling me uhaul would be cheaper I also need the wiring harness too.

There are aftermarket hitches like @OR17TRD said. And aftermarket wiring setups for the trailer lights.
With a jet ski and lawnmower you should be fine without a tranny oil cooler.
 
How can they not have released the hitch? The frame has not changed since 2005...can these dealer come up with any more excuses to take money? #^^%}{%%#}^%#}%%#}}%%^*^%}#%^^++}*^##} cursing omitted for your protection. Author is a Marine.

I thought that was pretty stupid when they told me that
