Changing Shifter Knob

I bought a cheap PRO shifter knob off Amazon. I have a auto transmission.

Screwed the old one off, put the new one on, and screwed it down till it wasn't loose enough to move around much...it wasn't tight.

Later that day I started it up, and tried to put in reverse to back out of my garage. Shifter wouldn't budge at all. Kinda went into a brief panic mode wondering what was up. Loosened it up about 5 turns and it worked perfectly. Tried tightening it back up today, and once again it wouldn't shift out of park.

Posted about this on the Tacoma FaceBook group, and on Tacoma World. Nothing but crickets.

Any of y'all have a clue how this is possible?

What was wrong with the toyota gear shift that came on the truck? My original one has been fine so far. Be kind of senseless to replace one if still good.

I bought the truck new 6 years ago, just thought it was time for a change.

There was nothing wrong with the wheels, tires, air dam, grill, shocks, or Predator steps. Changed them anyhow, I changed the grill and wheels a couple weeks after buying it.
