Conventional motor oil

Seems I could go in any local hardware store, or even a local convenience store that sells gas, and buy 10w30, or 30w motor oil for my old tractors. It's getting real scarce finding only synthetics of odd viscosities not really suitable for my needs. Finally took a trip to a tractor supply where they had listed these motor oils online in stock. It was $18 a gallon for 10w30, and 30w opposed to $25 for the same 10w30, and 30w if synthetic. Now if I can only cross reference some oil filters that are at a reasonable price.

Not really, but it's likely now taken the place of what was plain old motor oil. You have full synthetics which is the most popular choice for motor oil in today's cars, suv's, and trucks. You also have 100% synthetics that are exactly what they are. They perform best in high performance engines along with engines that have turbos, and superchargers.
