dont neglect your PCV valve 2.7L engine

over my time owning Toyota trucks i've never paid too much attention to the PCV Valve, BUT DONT! I attempted to pull the valve and clean it at 158,365k miles and it broke because of the brittle plastic at that age, wasnt easy to get out in a 2.7l engine, use either a 22mm or 7/8" deep socket and do completely remove the little hose attached by 2 spring clips off and pull it out completely to get the socket on. Also there were no available toyota OEM valves available in my vicinity at $17 a pop since the old one broke very easily, the OEM is #12204-OCO10(made in Indonesia) but I found one at Advance Auto online at $8.69 with a !5% coupon SPRING code came to $7.70 out the door pickup its part#PCA1122 carquest premium and built like a tank of metal and also is made in Indonesia like the OEM but better material and very well machined metal. Also most people will remove the valve clean it out with brake cleaner, see if it still rattles, blow into one end etc. and replace, this was me for years, just clean, rattle, blow and put it back in BUT DONT! just completely replace it at 50-60k miles causes even if they still rattle, it doesnt mean its still working at 100% effective getting the back pressure out of the engine which causes bad MPG, white or grey smoke, crappy drivability, and possible oil leaks because the back pressure is not getting released, all of which happened to me, since putting the new tank PCV in the truck runs much better, possibly better MPGs and possibly hopefully stops a oil leak at my rear main seal(i hope). dont neglect it just replace it with a new one for better performance, i definetly rec the Advance auto PCV for a better price and its availibilty since the OEMs seem to have to be ordered, its probably made by the same supplier that makes the toyota one in the same country.

Ya where is that buggar on the 2.7

I have been searching parts diagrams to pinpoint location
And it still a no go!

Same goes for any engine's pcv valve. A $10 part can cause a bunch of issues. Its good to check them every 40k miles, or so to make sure they're clean, and rattle.

Do you need two hands to work it out and reinstall?
I maybe able to reach at it with one hand, I will look tomorrow under the hood
no you need to pull off the little hose on both ends and take it out from back there(dont lose the little wing clips) this should give you barely enough room to get a deep socket on it, i would first try and twist it counterclockwise with just my hand(best GI Joe Kung Foo grip style) and see if you can unscrew it without a ratchet because there is very limited space in the back of to attach, you may also try to unscrew or at least break it loose with a 7/8" open end wrench i didnt have one, that would be the best bet, you initially need to break it loose then you can twist it out by hand, also go buy the new pcv valve beforehand cause i busted the original plastic ones tip off and had to get a ride to Advance auto from someone cause i didnt want to run it without the pcv valve that i broke off. i would definetly get that Advance auto #pca1122 valve for $7.70 out the door from AAP online site then go pick it up, also they list their stores that have them in stock, but call first to make sure cause they list them in stock online but dont actually may not have them in the store, this happened to me. had to get it at another store. when you thread in the new one initially i thought it wasnt the right one cause it felt like it wasnt threading in, but with a little patience it did no problem, then tightened it down till it stopped threading in with the deep socket, runs much better for sure, and i think my mpg's improved too, much much better IMO

also there is a big grey plastic wire loom you will see it in that video that guy didnt move it out of the way but its clipped on to the firewall by 2 black hold down straps if you look closely you can see a pinch point(on the face of the black strap) on it to release it from that strap, release both of them straps and move that whole grey wire loom thing towards the front of the engine this will give you more room to work in there to get at the valve

heres a picture of the old broken OEM pcv next to the new metal AAP carquest version
