Extra power shift when towing.

Does anyone know if you have to use that ECT extra power switch when towing. I am towing a 24 ft travel trailer which is below the limits. It seems that I get better gas milage and it does well without the extra power switch. any thoughts?

You don't have to, but it changes the shift points and helps keeps it from gear hunting.

Speaking of the ECT switch I have a stupid question. I know it changes shift points and improves overall performance but does it have anything to do with prioritizing the direct injection over the port injection?
