That seems about right give or take a mpg. They are rated 17city/19hwy‘97 ext cab 4x4 v-6 5 speed.
Had a couple weeks now.
What kind of fuel mileage should this truck get? Filled up today (2nd tank) got like 17.5mpg.

Sometimes i dip below 17 in winter, carrying a few hundred lbs of persons, Dug, luggage, in headwinds, up in the 7000+ft ranges, doing 75ish and spiritedly passing 5 or 6 cars at a time.Well first thing to remember (or learn) is the 3.4 was never known for it's gas sipping mileage because it doesn't sip, it doesn't GULP either, I'd say a steady stream is about right & depending if in town or on freeway/highway 17.5 was your highway mileage probably, it'd be slightly less in town but if anyone is squeezing 19 (toyota's claim IIRC)
What piss's me off is that the 4.0 is stronger/more power/ & worse, better gas mileage than the 3.4...
Otherwise its closer to 21
I think the vp 93 is 3.33 hereSee what I mean !!....****, & gas is 295 a gallon here (lowest) up to $3.55 a gallon...
Otherwise its closer to 21
Wish it was 20 degrees here. Lol it's 3 with a wind chill of -5Not too shabby at 20.2 a gallon for over 100 miles of driving in 4 high on bad roads. View attachment 14657
