Fuel pump recall

The only thing I've read, and I can't remember where at, was they supposedly know what the problem is. Either gas or some additives in the gas is soaking into the impeller causing it to swell and seize. If this is true or not, who knows. If this is the total answer it would seem to be a simple fix, just make the impellers out of something that wouldn't soak gas. Other than that haven't heard anything other than my recall notice.
 
I was over on TacomaWorld last night and someone was floating the idea that the fix was gonna be a software update. Supposedly a dealer told him that. Sounds a little fishy to me, but we'll see.
 
I just checked my toyota owners app and it said that yota was working on a new and improved low pressure fuel pump. When they get it figured out they would all be replaced free of charge. Wounder how long its gonna take them to come up with over a million fuel pumps.
