Hi guys,
I'm on my first week of owning a 2017 TRD Offroad doublecab. I'm travelling alot of highway to get into the mountains daily, and the transmission is regularly dropping gears to find power to maintain the speed set on the cruise control.
I know there's plenty of under-hood power in these, so I'm pointing my finger at the transmission gearing. This was an issue in the overland Wranglers, Libertys and Land Rovers I've built and worked over the years.
Further, I know that if I'm having issues now, I know it will be worse down the road when a lift, more aggressive tires and the additional weight of overland gear gets bolted on.
What is everyone using for gearing (makes, ratios etc)?
I messed around with that "ECT Power" button today and it made a noticeable difference in the responsiveness of the transmission for sure, but I don't want to run with that button all the time.
Thanks in advance!
