I did notice the years, but I was just curious if it was the same engine, just tuned differently. I'm assuming this engine has been around for a while, before it was put in the Tacoma. I could be wrong.

The 3.5s in the other cars do not have atkinson capability. It isn't the same.

Those are great little cars. That’s a good size motor for it no bigger than they are.

A co-worker of mine has a 1995 Camry.....she just turned over 212,000 miles. She's replaced 1 headlight, 1 taillight and the serpentine belt. Great car!

Let’s all cross our fingers and hope they don’t have the same carbon issues as the is and gs from Lexus same engine and at about 100k or more it will start to misfire.!!

I think the problem there was lack of port injection. The 3.5 in the Taco had port and direct injection. There should be no oil vapor buildup in the intake tract.
