Lift question

Should I do spacers or coil overs?
I want a three inch lift and I feel like the suspension is so good on my sport that I feel like I don't need to change out the coil overs.
Are spacers terrible?

Spacer lifts are not bad. I have a tuff country 4 in lift with uniball control arms. Now since you only want a 3 in lift your in luck. Don't listen to anyone on here, get bilstien 5100's!!! They're adjustable to 3 in and you could keep your oem coils I believe. Now for the rear you could buy upgraded leafs or just get blocks. It's all up to you and how much money you want to spend, but I swear to you, bilstien 5100's is perfect for you.

Actually I apologize the bilstien 5100 is not 3 in lift but 2.5 which is essentially almost the same thing. What I would do in your case is get the spacer lift, and say if you add a heavy bumper, get the bilstien 5100 so it could compensate for the sag. And bilstien 5100. Are also great struts to just have in general, they make the ride quality much better.

Woah calm down buddy. No need for aggression, you know nothing about me nor do I of you. I'm speaking outta experience from my Tacoma since your so concerned. Now please **** off. :)

No aggression from me. You stated don't listen to anyone on here . I've owned 21 vehicles 4 Toyotas 3 pick ups one FJ. Most of the suspension work done by me. So I do know what I'm talking about . You don't even know that the strut ride your trying to talk about has everything to with the spring load rating. That will dictate the ride comfort in these trucks along how quickly the strut dampening gets the wheel and tire back to the surface your driving on. You **** OFF DUMB ASS. This is a problem on these forums. Some know nothing no it all like yourself has a ****ing shop install something other than a factory part on the vehicle they own and instantly they ****ing think they know everything about off roading. HaHa I'm mostly writing this for the amusement of others on here, but, it's the truth!ImageUploadedByTaco Forum1464950688.702418.jpgImageUploadedByTaco Forum1464950715.942983.jpgImageUploadedByTaco Forum1464950745.026913.jpgImageUploadedByTaco Forum1464950789.063837.jpg
I don't have a pic of my 1989 pick up I bought new! Good Luck **** FACE

Hold on killer. We don't know each other. You guys don't know each other. You kinda left yourself open when you made the comment of not to listen to anyone on here when it comes to the 3" lift and to buy 5100's. I happen to know silverpataco and he does know what he's talking about.

Congrats no one gives a **** how many trucks you worked on. You seem to get butthurt easy. I gave my opinion on what type of lift he should get. I didn't know I had to be a ****ing mechanic to own a Tacoma? And how cute you got you butt buddy to come back you up. Must be real tuff behind that computer screen pussy. Now please stop the random aggression to prove your such a great mechanic and **** off.

To be honest I don't care what he knows. He doesn't need to be a loud mouth and wave Around how many trucks he's worked on, I simply just gave my input on 3 in lifts that's it. Yes I know the "don't listen to anyone on here" was outta hand but that's no excuse to act like a dick on here. Isn't this Fourm supposed to be welcoming and friendly?

Funny the pic he posted of his truck had bilstien 5100's lol so guess I'm right about something eh?

Whoa!! **** face?!? I'm butt hurt that you guys aren't hugging it out, bitches... Just grab each other by the dicks and say you're sorry. No need to throw ****s around like they're free :)

Bilsteins dont account for his lift, its more the springs but i was pointing out he had them lol my hands are clean here people

To get back to the point of this thread (not a bunch of guys throwing a fit over one comment), if you like how your truck rides just stick with a spacer, however if you go off road a lot my suggestion would be a coil over, and no, I don't know everything about Tacomas, just sharing my opinion from my experience...

But they are better when they're free. Unless your in Korea. Oh wait. Did I just say that out loud?

Lol got a little crazy for a minute.
I'm gonna take on some trails and go to glamis with it every so often. I know The right thing to do should is the coil overs and upper control arms but I hate to spend the money when 80% of the time I'm just going to be driving it around town.
Still trying to decide what I'm gonna do.
Took it out on a trail yesterday and it was a blast!
Thanks for the feedback. Keep it cool fellas. This is supposed to be fun

As long as you have fun that's all that matters. How much off roading to you do? What kind of trails? If it's not real hard core it's up to what you want to spend. Look around and read reviews. Good luck and keep us posted.

I started with a spacer lift from rough country for 250$, after a year i upgraded to bilstein shocks and eibach coils for 750$. It was do-able both on and offroad with the spacer lift i went everywhere my buddys with better lifts went but the big diffrence was ride quality offroad, with the spacers your head was damn near going through the roof on every bump but with the new setup its so much more smooth and just feels overall like i have more control. Either way its like demo said its your truck and do what makes you happy but you cant go wrong with better struts
