OK, I’m sure the pros and cons of auto vs manual has been discussed before. I’m coming from a straight axel manual Samurai. I realize with the rarity of old straight axel Toyota trucks I won’t be getting one of those so I have resolved myself to the Tacoma IFS. I also realize the Tacoma manual trans is getting rare as well so I’d like to hear just how steady the Tacoma auto trans is when put into the low gears. Can it keep a low speed, crawl, not over run, does the converter lock up, etc.? Just how does it handle in technical off roading?
