I have a metal on metal scraping noise from the front passenger side wheel of my 04 4wd taco. i am the only owner of this vehicle.
there is no play in the wheel if i jack it up to check the bearing it doesnt woble or make the sound when i spin it.
there is no wear or warping in the rotor, and breaks are great.
when im driving in the morning it will make the noise constantly, if i brake it quiets and goes away(sometimes not all the way), soon as i let of the break it comes back.
same also happens if i speed up it goes away a bit and comes back after i let off.
also seems to be constant when its cold, and very little almost never when its warm.
no issues when driving at all even when it makes noise, there is no pulling to either side, drives st8 as can be, and no rough ride or anything, truck operates perfect except god awful scaping sound metal on metal, sounds like when you have bad pads worn out running rivets into the rotor, however as i said no marks or wear on rotor or pads.
what the heck.
