My transmission was missing, 1998 Toyota Tacoma 4x4,would hit the gas and occasionally it would rev up to almost 3-4 thousand rpms and then catch jump and go, I'm not a mechanic and I hear that dropping the pan and changing the filter and doing a full tranny flush is a huge pain, so I just undid my drain plug and drained it, put some lucas in it with some tranny fluid, my owners Manuel clarifies that it should take 1.7 to 2.0 liters, well I've put in almost 2.5 quarts of fluid plus a bottle of lucas and it's still not reading right on the dipstick, it's almost 6 inches low on the stick, and that would be another entire quart, does anyone have a clue what might be going on, and what to do? Keep on adding till it reads right or what? Any help would be appreciated - Ace
