Hit 185,000 miles today. Doing my every 5K oil change with the all new Valvoline Protect and Restore 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil. Trying it out and so far seems very good. Usually use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum or MOBIL1 Synthetic oils. Wana see what the hype is about. New Synthetic Oil Filter too. See if it cleans and runs any different.

Best to begin with one brand oil, and not mix, use other brands, as each oil brand has its own additive package that can react differently with one another.
I used only 5w30 mobil1 synthetic from the get-go in my 2001tundra....even at 290k miles it was running like a new engine.

Began with AMSOIL SIGNATURE SERIES 5W-30 for first 100,000 miles every 5,000 miles, then MOBIL1 some years every 5k, and Pennzoil Ultra 5W-30 some years.

Unless the Toyota dealer used bulk pennzoil 20+ years ago that nasty yellow packaged sh!t never has touched none of my taco parts !!!

Pennzoil synthetic motor oil is made from natural gas, not petroleum base stocks like other motor oils...it's a very pure synthetic oil with a decent additive package. Imo, mobil1 has a better detergent package for their motor oil.
