By any chance is anyone on here running a 33x12.5x17 on the 4Runner wheels with a leveling kit? I’d like to see some pics of what it looks likeIMG_6197.jpg

12.5” wide might be to much. The 4Runner wheels are only a +4 offset. It’ll be close to the UCA. You could do 285/70/17 on them and be ok with a 2.5-3” lift.

You think a spacer would help? Or what kind of offset should I look for to run those tires?

You’d need a 6” lift, cab mount chop, lots of trimming and you’ll still get some rubbing with a 12.5” wide tire. You’d have to have a pretty good offset to clear the upper ball joint. Therefore, the tire will stick out like a fat ladies thighs (or @OR17TRD ‘s FUPA) rubbing on everything on the way by. As mentioned earlier, a narrower tire is the key. 32.8 x 11.2 is about as close as we can get to a 33 x 12.5. There’s a reason that most of the lifted Tacoma’s, FJ’s and 4- runners you see have some configuration of a 285 tire on them.

255/85 17s are roughly 34s and they work great on my 16 with the leveling kit. Stock wheels. Any offset, and they rub. You just can’t do wide without cutting, chopping and trimming.

What these guys said ^^

You could run them with a -6 or -12 offset but don’t turn because it’s going to rub like @Crawdad said.
Just know there is going to be modifications that are needed.

So do you think 11.5 would be ok or still have some issues? I was looking into 285/75/17s to. Sorry for the questions. First time truck/tacoma owner

Look for 285/ 70/ 17. Should be able to find a wide variety of options in that size. That’s the “go-to” size for 17” Tacoma’s with a 2-3” lift.

If you can find 33x11.5x17 tires they will work with the 4Runner wheels. Honestly you’re not going to be able to tell the 0.2” and 0.3” difference from the 285/70/17 vs the 33x11.5x17

The 285/75/17 tire is going to be pushing it for a 2.5” lift. You’ll need a solid 3” lift for the height even then it’s going to be pushing it. 285/75/17 is 33.8” tall, 1.1” taller than the 285/70/17

What’s the widest tire I can use for that setup and not have any issues?
As far as tires and wheels here’s a list of the biggest:
With a 2.5-3” lift you can fit up to:
285/55/20 = 32.3x11.2”
285/60/19 = 32.5x11.2”
285/65/18 = 32.6x11.2”
285/70/17 = 32.7x11.2”
285/75/16 = 32.8x11.2”
Wheels I would go with a 8.5” wide and -6 offset

Got it. Now this helps a lot. I will look into my options. Thanks you!
