Rock sliders or nerf bars?

I was set on a pair of nfab nerf bars for my 2016 dcb sport but now I'm not sure because a buddy of mine pointed out that the steps could get stuck on rocks. So now I can't decide between nerf or sliders?? Anyone have any advice? It's not gonna be a mall crawler, I'm going to use it

Just get sliders with steps. More sturdy than nerf bars and provide protection off the road.
