Planning to make my own roof rack soon seeing if any of you know the thread size of the factory roof rack holes so I can get me some bolts to get this thing startedIMG_9576.jpg

I tried that website but it leads me to some auto sale site haha need to take my trim off and just mess with it been raining here down south so kinda iffy about taking it off now. I will give a update once i figure out the thread

M6 with standard 1.0 thread pitch the length will determain what you are trying to attach wether it will be 14mm or 35 mm or how ever long you need.
That will screw into the factory holes.

Excellent job!! I'm looking to retrofit a rack to my new (to me) 2016 Tacoma. Did you remove and reinstall the weather stripping that fills the gap? What product did you use to hold it down?

I did have to remove it and cut it to fit back in my gaps. The front and back have clips so up front I did not put anything it just sits nice and snug in the seam. In the rear they use double sided tape on the rounded part of the cab. The small pieces I have up top sit snug but freely in the seam. So no I didn’t use anything to stick it to my truck. I’ve been on highway trips and they have stayed in place.

Can you measure the spacing between the mounting holes? - - - - trying to see if the pairs of crossbars I have will mount, without removing the stripping.

You will have to remove the stripping to get to the holes. The front has two holes which I think were 2 7/8” apart the center has a single hole then the rear has two also but I’ll have to double check those measurements for you

Thanks!! Just looking to get the measurement before removing the stripping. Have a Thule rack system that I like. Didn't like the feet that they were selling for my F150 at the time, so I bought their tracks and hard mounted them to the roof. Don't feel like going through that again....drilling holes in the roof. If the spacing of the holes in the roof happens to match or be very close to that of the Thule feet I put in the track (but never moved), I'll install those right in the Tacoma factory locations and call it a day.

No problem man I can get some better measurements if you need me too. You have about a inch width wise to work with down in the bottom under the stripping. It gets a little tighter towards the back but the clips on the stripping make it easy to remove and check out without poking your holes right away. Good luck man [emoji1417]

I don't care how far apart the bars are. Just interested in the distance between the mounting screws in for the front and rear pairs. Thanks!!
Hye Stephen, Did you end up finding out which control tower landing pads would work for those original mounting points? Also which number launch pads if you have them. Thanks!!
I have the same setup, and am trying to figure out how to get these control towers mounted to the cab without any tracks. Otherwise Im looking at potentially getting an ARB mounting system (like $160 on some sites) and figuring out a way to mount either the control towers and crossbars to that, or just basket straight to those mounts. Any input from anyone else on this is welcomed as well, still trying to figure out the best method to go with on this one. Thanks!
