Yes, as long as you pick one that is an appropriate size for the truck. In other words, don't get a 10-foot v-plow. You want a 7-foot straight blade. I've been plowing with mine for a decade with no trouble at all.
I use a plow from arcticsnowplows -- but they've changed them up a bunch since I got mine. Their Tacoma (2005-2015) mounting kit is crappy though, I'd recommend going with the universal mounting kit "for full size trucks", which requires some fabrication, but mounts 3 inches higher up -- Tacoma sits high enough at the front to fit it. Also need T-frame part 53677-D on the 84" blade.
