Those Big Black Rubber Donuts...

Sup guys. So I'm about to get a brand new set o tyres for my 2010 dbl cab long bed 4x4. Trying to find a good compromise on price and performance. Definitely want to go all terrain. Stock size is 245/75/16. I've priced some Cooper discoverer a/t's, crosswind a/t's, and Uniroyal Laredo atw3's (cheapest). Called my local tire shop, and they priced me some Hercules terra trac at2's (cooper brand) for $522 installed. I'm the kind of cheap ass who's always opted for a decent set of used tires, but I wanna get something new that isn't gonna break the bank, but also something that's gonna last and give me some decent performance. I rarely drive off road, but I want the option to do so, as well as winter weather traction. What do you guys recommend? I guess I'm not really stuck on the stock size either. I'm currently running a set of General grabber STX 255/70/16's, and they've served their purpose, but didn't last very long... Yeah, I'd love to get some BFG ko2's, but those aren't really in the budget atm. Everything I've priced has been between $80-$120 per tire. Also, any suggestions on where to buy would be appreciated. Thanks fellers. Let me know what you think!

I personally wouldn't go too cheap on tires. They're the only 4 contact patches your truck has on the road.
I bought Bridgestone Revo 2's for my Tacoma in 265/65R17.
They are rated really well for rain and off road, and so far l agree. I love them.
We don't get snow where we are, but we sure do get a lot of rain.

Right... Well yeah, I'm definitely not trying to find the cheapest tire possible. Just can't really afford spending $200+ per tire right now. Trying to find a set for under $600 if possible. Not bottom shelf, but not top of the line either.

Nitto Terra Grappler II are good and price isn't bad. I've run them on my 2015 double cab 4X4 for a few years and they are great on and off road. Check them out.

Depending on where you are, Big O Tires A/T has served me well on several trucks.
I also had some Toyo A/Ts but I don't think you're looking for that. I tried some Crosswind A/Ts but they only lasted about 20K before I replaced 2 and regrooved the rear 2.... [emoji3166][emoji848][emoji2958][emoji2958][emoji2958][emoji2958]
To be fair... those tires existed during a rough time in life and got shredded much...
P.S.- yes, Tacomas can 4x4 drift if driven correctly... [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

I’ve bought my last 6 or so sets from discount tires which use to be America’s tires. I try to buy on their sales. Labor Day, Presidents’ Day, forth of July, Black Friday are the biggest sales they do. Have to wait until Presidents’ Day for the next on.

I buy all my tires from American Tire. They will match any price you find from other stores including internet sales.

That’s true. On rims and tires.
I usually wait for the sales because they’ll do an additional $100 or $200 mail in rebate on top of the great price. I also have one of their CC and get 0% for 6 months or whatever the promo is at the time.
