Okay I have a friend selling some new wheels and tires I’m thinking of getting. Coming off a 2017 Nissan Titian. Can I have someone re code the sensors in them to work for my 17 Tacoma or would I have to transfer mine now to the new ones?

Assuming the TPMS sensors are compatible with the Tacoma, you can have a tire shop reprogram your ecu to accept the new sensors or if you’re planning on keeping your oem rims as an extra set, just DIY with the tire rack tool.

I swap between winter and all terrains on their own rims with TPMS— had to invest in a reprogram tool as it’s much cheaper than paying the dealer for an hr of labor each swap.
