Truck Bed Weight Capacity

‘17 DCB TRD Offroad 4x4, Shortbed. Manual says 250 pounds is max for the composite bed cargo weight. This seems a little light as most dirtbikes and sport quads are @250.

Anybody got different experiences and opinions?

I put 500 pounds of dirt in mine.

I, easily, put more than 250 lbs in it every time I camp. ****, my huge cooler probably weighs 100lbs full.

I put 1200lb crate in mine when traveling for work. Nose high but no issues.

You read something wrong. Bed weight capacity is well over 1,000 pounds.

If you google it you will find various results between 1100 and 1500 pounds. Best advice would be to look at the sticker on your driver side door jamb. It should state your max cargo capacity there. That max load includes occupant and any other weight in the cab of the truck.

1100-1500lbs
I’ve put a 1/2 yard of gravel (~1300lbs) or 2 yards of bark dust (~1200lbs) for many of trips. No damage.
I put a yard of soil in once and that was a little much I was on my bump stops for that one. I did 1/2 yards of soil after that.

Bed capacity is 1,175 pounds. Hell I've had around 500 pounds of landscape border rocks in the trunk of my Altima.
