4x4 stopped working

So recently my 4x4 light stays on the whole time I'm driving, and when I switch it to 4x4 it stays blinking and won't go into 4x4, any ideas what the problem could be? 2008 double cab

I had similar problem last winter. When I swtched to 4H the light continued to flash, when I swithed back to 2H the 4x light stayed on. I finally stopped the truck and put it in neutral, switched to 4H then went into reverse. I heard a dull thump and put it into drive and moved forward, the light stayed on so I stopped and switched back to 2H and moved forward. The light went out and I have not had any problems since. I can only assume something got hung up or jammed.

When you switch to 4x4 from 2H sometimes you need to back up a little bit for it to engage. Same goes for when you go back to 2H. But if you go into 2L make sure your stopped and in N.

I'll try switching some more but I have tried that quite a bit. I could never feel it go into 4x4 either.
