Can I use 03 tundra struts on 96 taco

I have a 96 taco 4x4 my buddy just gave me a set of the toyota bilstien struts and spring off his 03 tundra 4x4 they look almost identical to the ones on the truck wondering if anyone knows if the will fit and if so will they lift the front end any?

1st gen Tundra shocks/coils will fit 1st gen Tacomas, I run 1st gen Tundra 5100's with 2nd gen OME 883#'s...

As far as lift goes, it'd lift some I'd think because of stiffer coils
