Any more talk about retrofitting a CarPlay update for older Tacoma’s? I have a 2018 TRD Offroad 4x4 non JBL.

There are some expensive retrofits as much as a new head unit. Try Naviks or google NV Connect.

I have a 2019 Tacoma TRD Off Road. I was told when I purchased it that I could upgrade on the Entune system with Apple CarPlay. Seems like now I’m getting the run around and no one at the dealer can actually tell me if it’s possible. Has anyone had the upgrade done by a dealer, or anywhere else?

I was looking at 2020 Tacoma’s and see that they seem to be CarPlay an Android Auto compatible across the board. Anyone know if the head units would drop into a 2019 or earlier? If so, I’ll keep my eye open for one out of a salvage over the next couple of years.
