Door locks

I have 2011 tacoma trd 4 door and I was wondering does anyone know if the doors are suppose to lock when you put the truck gear? All the other toyota we own do it.

Tacomas don't do it unless you have the optional alarm.

Do you mean the button on the key ring to unlock the doors.

Keyless entry is standard but it isn't an alarm unless you buy the alarm upgrade which includes a glass break sensor that the dealer installs. It uses the same fob.

Well, you can just break your window...then you'll know:shifty:

Roll the window down and lock the truck with the fob. Then reach in and open the door manually. If it goes off you have the alarm. If nothing happens you only have keyless entry.
