Entune Data Services & Sirius Tech Support

I got my '17 TRDSport AC/MT in September, and it came with a 3 month trial of SiriusXM. I've got about a month left on it, and while I can do without XM radio, I do like the traffic, weather and other data services.

Reading the manual, it states:

Data services for Premium HDD Navigation and Premium IntelliTouch™ Navigation are provided by SiriusXM® Satellite Radio 19 and require a paid subscription. Please visit <sirius website> for pricing information on these data services (XM NavTraffic™, XM NavWeather™, XM Stocks, XM Sports, XM Fuel Prices).

Fair enough, I go visit Sirius' website. While trying to find a data plan the website asks me which vehicle i'm driving. I choose the year - 2017, then the vehicle make pulldown gets populated, and I go to select "Toyota". It's not there. I refresh the page, thinking it must be an error, but, again. No Toyota. Hmmm. A chatbot window is at the bottom right of the page, so I have a conversation with it.

TL/DR the Sirius guy tells me our Entune Premium Radios don't support NavTraffic.

Nick,
I checked twice on this radio, I am sorry it is not compatible with navigation services. In this case I recommend you to contact the nearest dealer to replace the radio with infotainment services.
Well, i'm not going to replace it if it already works. I guess i'll see if it stops working at the end of my trial period.
Nick,
Is there anything else that I can assist you with today?
Please feel free to contact us back with any other queries.

I hope that I have answered all your questions.Thank you for contacting SiriusXM and have a wonderful day

I actually use my IPad Pro for those details which I know does help you.

I have the Entune Premium system in our Taco. On page 142 (top left) is says " Weather radar information can be received via the HD radio or by the Entune App Suite Application on a bluetooth phone." I think the HD Radio refers to the Sirius Radio. Think?

On page 210 (top left) is says the same for Traffic.

I checked Sports, Stocks and Fuel Apps and all worked fine. I do not have SiriusXM contract I let it expire.

I hope this helps :)

Thanks Gadget, glad to hear I don't have to get a subscription for those services. I'll let my trial expire too, I don't need another subscription in my life!

No worries. Remember, I have the Entune app running on my iPhone with data plan connected by Bluetooth.

HD radio and SiriusXM are two separate beasts.... Certain stations provide HD data within their standard bandwidth that contain digital data (ie band / title info, better clarity, etc.....). There is a setting somewhere that allows the stereo to switch between the two signals (almost) seamlessly depending on availability. In rural areas like mine, it gets a bit annoying due to the volume level change during the switch. When you are picking up the HD channels, a little HD logo pops up on the upper left corner (I think).

SiriusXM is transmitted by aliens from outer space (which inherently also contains HD Data).

I really enjoy SiriusXM, but after my 3 month, Ill probably let it expire.
